Revolutionizing Biking Safety with Innovative Technology

The SF Helmet is not your average biking helmet. It goes beyond protecting the rider's head by incorporating cutting-edge technology to ensure their well-being. In case of an emergency, the helmet sends the biker's location and an emergency call to the necessary authorities, providing quick and efficient assistance.

One of the unique features of the SF Helmet is its ability to detect potential thefts. If someone tries to steal the bike, the helmet sends a notification to the biker, allowing them to take immediate action. This added layer of security gives bikers peace of mind, knowing that their belongings are protected.

The SF Helmet is made using a double plastic injection process, utilizing materials such as ABS and Polyurethane. Its dimensions of 250mm x 320mm x 160mm ensure a comfortable fit for bikers of all sizes.

Operating the SF Helmet is simple yet effective. When the helmet senses an impact, it initiates an interaction protocol, activating a red light and a buzzer to warn the biker and those around them. If the impact persists for more than ten seconds, the helmet automatically sends an emergency call and GPS location to the necessary authorities. However, if the biker is unharmed, they can cancel the signal by pressing a button for three seconds. The helmet's light turns blue to indicate that the emergency call has been sent, or green if no call was made. Additionally, the biker can manually send an emergency call by pressing the button for eight seconds.

The SF Helmet project commenced in March 2016 and was completed in August 2016 in Ankara. Throughout the design process, the team conducted interviews with bikers and teams, gathering valuable feedback and insights to meet their needs. Extensive market and dimension research was also conducted to ensure the helmet's functionality and practicality.

The SF Helmet faced various challenges during its development, particularly in the coding and prototyping stages. However, the designers overcame these obstacles, resulting in a successful and innovative product.

Recognized for its exceptional design and functionality, the SF Helmet was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Sporting Goods, Fitness, and Recreation Equipment Design category in 2017. This prestigious accolade is given to creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and technical characteristics.
